Year 5 Art
During art lessons this month, Year 5 pupils drew inspiration from the celebrated African-British artist Magdalene Odundo, renowned for her stunning coil-built clay pots. The pupils delved into Odundo's distinctive style, sketching some of her iconic creations while gaining an understanding of her artistic approach. Building on their sketches, they eagerly took part in hands-on activities, working with clay to create their own pots. This gave them the opportunity to express their creativity and explore techniques inspired by Odundo’s extraordinary craftsmanship. This enriching experience not only sharpened their artistic skills but also fostered a deeper appreciation for diverse cultural art traditions.
