Another GOLD for the SMA Rowing Team at the London Finals
St Matthew Academy won the London Regionals for the South & East back in December and therefore went through to the London Finals.
All students competed Individually for their Year Group.
Year 7: Kevin Nana-Ampaw was among the Top achievers not quite getting a medal.
Year 8:
D’Metri Ramator – 1st – Gold, therefore, No. 1 in All of London
Abdul Oladejo – 2nd – Silver, therefore, No. 2 in All of London
Year 9:
Tani coming in at 4th place again!!
Year 10:
Kai Shaw - 3rd – Bronze, therefore, No. 1 in All of London
Then it was on to the “Blue Ribbon” Events – The Relays
Junior Relay:
(Year 7 and 8 Combined – 2 from each Year Group)
Kevin Nana, D’Metri, Abdul and Kelvin Ogalanya – Stepped up to the plate and brought it home!!!!
GOLD MEDAL!!! – The Best Team In ALL LONDON
Senior Relay:
(Year 9 and 10 Combined – 2 from each Year Group)
Kai Shaw, Timmarry, Tani, Stephen Umunnakwe worked extremely hard and came in at 4th place.
An excellent day all-round with the highlight being Kevin Nana-Ampaw winning the “All-Star Award” for his endeavours and great representation of Skills and Camaraderie.
